I agree with you on the ABA, excellent beer.

Yeah I think we only used pale malt and crystal, so go figure, but I think we were purposefully trying to keep simple, don't remember. Yeah we should totally kill it with late addition hops. I think we should pass on the hop cone in the bottle (nice idea though), I think we'd be asking for gushers.

Bourbon Gnarleywine . . . . mmm mmm!

Bah. I don't care what they say about the ABA. I'll be brewing 10 more gallons of that stuff soon. Its a very flavorful and FULL BODIED brown ale. Not sure what they were drinking, but if they wanted a "chewing" brown ale... erm... isn't that called a brown porter?

Yeah, agree with the Gnarleywine... but it was our first effort at a big beer together, so what can you say. Next year we should revisit the effort and brew another hop-monster barleywine... but make the grain bill a little fuller, and dry hop the hell out of it - maybe keg-hop it and counter-pressure fill them. Shove a hop cone into every bottle? I think I actually need to go downstairs, chill one down, and drink it in honor of the reviews.

And we still have that keg of Bourbon Gnarleywine to crack into....
